About the Role:
We are a growing Ecommerce company looking for an experienced and dependable Shipping Team Lead to oversee our shipping operations. You will manage a team of 6–8 shipping associates and ensure timely, accurate shipments to Amazon FBA, Walmart WFS, and direct customer orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coach, and manage a team of 6–8 shipping associates, ensuring daily productivity, accuracy, and accountability.
- Must be a strong, assertive leader who holds the team accountable to weekly shipping quotas and targets, enforces workplace rules without hesitation, and is not afraid to have tough conversations when performance or discipline standards are not met.
- Oversee the preparation and shipment of inventory to Amazon FBA fulfillment centers in full compliance with Amazon’s packaging, labeling, and shipping requirements.
- Manage the creation and submission of shipments to Walmart WFS (Walmart Fulfillment Services), ensuring adherence to Walmart’s supplier and compliance standards.
- Coordinate and oversee the fulfillment of outbound customer orders, ensuring orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time.
- Assign daily tasks and workloads to team members based on shipping volume and priorities.
- Monitor shipping queues, carrier pickups, and deadlines to ensure all outbound shipments leave on schedule.
- Verify shipping labels, packing slips, and carrier selections are accurate for each shipment type and destination.
- Identify and resolve shipping errors, delays, or carrier issues promptly, escalating to management when necessary.
- Track team performance metrics including shipment accuracy, processing speed, and error rates, and report regularly to leadership.
- Ensure the shipping area is organized, clean, and compliant with safety standards at all times.
- Maintain adequate shipping supplies (boxes, labels, tape, packaging materials) and communicate restocking needs to management.
- Collaborate with the Inventory Control Specialist to align outbound shipments with current stock availability.
What We’re Looking For
- System Knowledge: Experience with shipping platforms, carrier portals, and fulfillment systems such as Amazon Seller Central, Walmart Supplier Center, or similar shipping/warehouse management software is highly preferred.
- Detail-Oriented: You take pride in ensuring every shipment is packed, labeled, and documented correctly, with zero tolerance for errors that could result in compliance issues or customer dissatisfaction.
- Communication: You can clearly delegate tasks, give direction to a team of 6–8 associates, and communicate effectively with leadership regarding shipping volumes, deadlines, and any operational issues.
- Reliability: You are dependable, punctual, and lead by example. Some Saturdays may be required based on shipping volume and operational needs.
- Physical Ability: Comfortable standing for long periods and able to lift/move 10–50+ lbs as needed in a warehouse environment.
